EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Theres BIG plays in football -- and there are big plays. The New York Giants made the most of their big plays on both sides of the ball in a 28-23 win over slumping Philadelphia on Sunday. The Eagles simply didnt in losing for the fourth times in five games. This NFC East contest was a game of huge plays.Rookie quarterback Carson Wentz and the Eagles had seven plays from scrimmage that gained at least 20 yards, including four greater than 30 yards, and a 66-yard punt return by Darren Sproles. The result was 23 points. Two interceptions, including one late that gave the Eagles a first down at the Giants 34 with 1:48 to play, and the punt return yielded not a single point. Philadelphia also failed to convert a fourth-and-12 and a fourth-and-1 from the Giants 23 and 6, respectively, in the second quarter. And a last-gasp fourth-and-10 pass from the Giants 17 in the closing minute was incomplete. The Giants (5-3) were just the opposite. First-quarter interceptions by Landon Collins and Andrew Adams were turned into Eli Manning touchdown passes of 26 yards to Odell Beckham Jr . and 30 to rookie Roger Lewis Jr.A 46-yard pass to Victor Cruz set up Beckhams second touchdown, a 1-yard jump ball, and Manning capped his first four TD passing day of the season with a 32-yarder to Sterling Shepard in the third quarter.I know we won, Beckham said a day after his 24th birthday. I know there were some big plays. We made some, they made some. I think this was more of a game of whos going to come up with a stop. We did that. The biggest stop came in the closing minutes with New York ahead by five points. Jordan Hicks intercepted a Manning pass that was tipped by Connor Berwyn. It put the Eagles 34 yards away from beating the Giants for the sixth time in seven games.A 17-yard pass to Nelson Agholor followed, but thats where the Eagles (4-4) came up short yet again this season,Wentz (27 of 47 for 364 yards) missed Agholor on first down. Under blitz pressure, he was not close on the next two plays, and he overthrew Jordan Matthews on fourth down in the end zone.I didnt want to fade him too much like that, Wentz said. Thats red-zone football. Youve got to be precise down there and we just missed that one.Its been the story in each of the four losses. As a team, weve just got to learn how to finish, thats what I keep saying, Wentz said. It sounds cliché, but it really just comes down to executing. I think, outside of the first two interceptions, I thought we moved the ball OK. We just couldnt finish drives in the red zone, and we didnt finish at the end of the game, either.Thats the difference with the Giants this season, they are finishing games. Their five wins have been by a total of 20 points.Definitely a big win in the division, Manning said. Philadelphia, the last few years has had our number. Weve played close games, but havent been able to win those close games, so to be able to pull it off today and get that win was nice. The Eagles now have lost three games in the division, so their chances of winning it rely on putting together a string of victories in the second half of the season, which will feature five home games. If you look around the league right now we are obviously not in a spot we want to be in, but we are in a good spot, tight end Zach Ertz said. We just have to take it one game at a time. The good thing is all of these games we are in position to win, we just have to find somewhere before the last drive, find those plays that we need to make between then and there.---For more NFL coverage: http://www.pro32.ap.org and http://www.twitter.com/AP-NFLAir Max 270 Cheap Online .com) - Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray and Roger Federer were easy first-round winners Tuesday at the Australian Open. The Italy boss is expected to take over from interim manager Guus Hiddink at Stamford Bridge this summer, reports Sky Italy.Conte would bring with him a track record of success from the three years he spent managing Juventus, where he won three Serie A titles in a row between 2012-14. However, the Italian is also a combustible figure in the style of Mourinho, according to the Suns head of sport Shaun Custis. In January 2010 police were needed to intervene to prevent an altercation between Conte and his own fans when he was coaching Atalanta and two years later he was banned from football for four months for failing to report alleged match-fixing while in charge at Siena.New York City playmaker Andrea Pirlo, who worked under Conte at Juventus, recently described his former boss as a beast. Abramovich doesnt look long term - Contes just the latest manager off the designer shopping rails to a certain extent Andy Dunn, the Daily Mirrors sports columnist There is a beast in him, Pirlo said. I have been in his dressing room at half-time when we have been winning, but he comes in and will be throwing full bottles of water around because of a mistake we made or because he feels we should be further ahead.Speaking about Conte on the Supplement, Custis said: He is fairly controversial. Hes also a fairly lively character. You hear that [owner Roman] Abramovich has had enough of Mourinho and you bring in a guy who is madder, certainly on the touchline.Weve had a lovely calm under Hiddink where its almost Sven-Goran Eriksson like. Hes calm, hes lovely, everything runs along. Look how the players have responded, everybodys happy and this is the way to go.But youre talking to Hiddink in the week and ask is there any chance of staying on and he says: No certainly not. There was never any question of him staying. Guus Hiddink has some advice for the Chelsea board as Antonio Conte closes in on agreeing a deal to succeed him at Stamford Bridge It seems like they are going back to a guy who knows how to win, but is a similar type of character and you think: This is going to be volatile again.dddddddddddd Do Chelsea really want to have all that volatility again, even though he is a winning manager?[Abramovich] swings back and forward - You have [Carlo] Ancelotti, who was a wonderful, calm, authoritative figure, then Hiddink, who is slightly less authoritative, but similarly calm figure. And then you have Mourinho and then you have Conte. There doesnt seem to be any middle ground. If Conte, 46, does takes charge at Chelsea next season, he will need to hit the ground running, with The Times Chief Football writer Henry Winter saying that at the end of the day it will be results that determine his future at the club. Results will dictate everything and hell go with the tried and trusted and the expensive [players] probably from Italy, said Winter.Another option would be for Chelsea to try and persuade Hiddink to stay at Stamford Bridge this summer. Chelsea would be best served keeping hold of interim boss Guus Hiddink this summer, according to the Sunday Supplement panel Hiddink returned to coach the club for a second time in December following the sacking of Mourinho, with the champions struggling near the foot of the Premier League.Since the experienced Dutchmans arrival in west London, though, Chelsea have not lost in 10 league games, a run that has seen them move up to 11th in the table.Despite the impressive results Hiddink has achieved since arriving at Chelsea - the 69-year-old also had a similar impact at the club after replacing Luiz Felipe Scolari in February 2009 - the Blues are still set to appoint Conte. However, The Daily Mirrors sports columnist Andy Dunn thinks that while Conte has all the credentials to be a success at Chelsea next season, owner Roman Abramovich would be best served keeping hold of Hiddink. Chelseas Premier League record this season with and without interim boss Guus Hiddink He won three times on the spin with Juventus and is doing very well with Italy, he told the Sunday Supplement.I think on a basic level, youll have to allow for readjustment. Even though he is a proven, successful club manager, you would have a period of readjustment from national coach back to club manager. It seems like now, and I agree, that a lot of people are saying wouldnt the obvious solution be to try and persuade Hiddink to stay on for a little while - but hes not going to stay on for a long, long term. But then again Abramovich doesnt look long term. Hes just the latest manager off the designer shopping rails to a certain extent.
