SAN DIEGO -- Coach Mike McCoy still doesnt have any real answers for why his San Diego Chargers keep blowing big leads late in games. He does know the answer to a question thats on the minds of a lot of angry fans.Asked Monday if he thought his job is in jeopardy, he said: No. Im coaching my tail off every day and Im the head coach. And the Chargers are 1-3, thanks to their latest pratfall. They blew a 13-point lead with just under seven minutes to go and lost 35-34 to the previously winless New Orleans Saints on Sunday. Fumbles by running back Melvin Gordon and wide receiver Travis Benjamin gave Drew Brees the opening to lead a comeback against his former team. The Chargers blew a 21-point, third-quarter lead at Kansas City on opening day and lost 33-27 in overtime. After routing Jacksonville in their home opener, they blew a late lead at Indianapolis and lost 26-22.Then came the meltdown against the Saints. The resulting fan discontent comes at a bad time. The Chargers, whose attempted move to Los Angeles was rebuffed by fellow NFL owners in January, are seeking a $1.1 billion public handout for a new downtown stadium via a ballot measure calling for an increase in the hotel occupancy tax. The Chargers have once again threatened to move to Los Angeles -- where they could join the Rams in a stadium slated to open in Inglewood in 2019 -- if the measure is rejected.Besides the fumbles, there were plenty of other errors by the Chargers, like Benjamin letting too many punts hit the ground and a sloppy three-and-out drive on the first possession of the second half that McCoy called a disaster.Theres 53 minutes of some good football and then unfortunately we turned the ball over twice there to give them a great opportunity to do what they did, McCoy said. Youre furious when you watch because you see all the positives, but then theres the blowups. We can put it on two plays, but thats not the only reason Theres a number of times during the games. Like I told the players, thats every week. Theres so many things we can do better. The Chargers have lost 15 of their last 20 games and are 24-30 overall under McCoy.Up next is a road game against the rival Oakland Raiders. The Chargers were swept in the AFC last season while going 4-12 overall. They have lost 10 of 11 road games dating to the last game of 2014.Also coming under fire from fans are general manager Tom Telesco and the president of football operations, John Spanos, who is the grandson of owner Alex Spanos.Asked if Telesco and Spanos are getting him the right players, McCoy said: Yesterday we had every opportunity to win the game. Weve got the players to go out and win. Weve got to do a better job not turning the ball over, not making certain mistakes that we made at critical times in certain games.---Follow Bernie Wilson on Twitter at http://twitter.com/berniewilson---AP NFL websites: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP-NFLTed Hendricks Raiders Jersey . BASEL, Switzerland -- Arsenal easily beat Basel 4-1 to finish a surprise winner of its Champions League group on Tuesday, powered by a hat trick from little-used forward Lucas Perez.Getting a rare start, the Spanish forward gave Arsenal a three-goal lead by the 47th minute as the visitors coasted to victory.Arsenal unexpectedly finished atop Group A, rising above Paris Saint-Germain which drew 2-2 at home to winless Ludogorets Razgrad. As a group winner, Arsenal is seeded in Mondays draw for the Round of 16, hoping to avoid a seventh straight exit at that stage.Arsenal will avoid the likes of Barcelona and Atletico Madrid but the pot of unseeded teams is stronger than usual. Its difficult to know, Wenger told British broadcaster BT Sport, when asked if it was better to finish top. You feel a bit less guilty. At least we have done our job and lets see what happens. One possible opponent is Bayern Munich, which ousted Arsenal in the first knockout round in 2013 and 14.Another option is either Real Madrid or Borussia Dortmund, which play Wednesday in Spain with the leadership of Group F at stake.Arsenal completed its 17th straight successful group stage with a deserved win on a cold night in Switzerland.Mesut Ozil capped Arsenals performance with a delightful assist to let Alex Iwobi score in the 53rd, before Basel substitute Seydou Doumbia struck a consolation goal in the 78th.Still, it was Lucas Perezs show, having made litttle impact in north London since a deadline-beating move from Deportivo La Coruna in August.ddddddddddddThe 28-year-old forward scored his first Champions League goal in the eighth minute and scored in almost identical fashion eight minutes later. Each time, left back Kieran Gibbs was found deep in the Basel area. First a cross, then a shot, flashed across the goalmouth for Lucas Perez to tap in with his left foot at the far post. The hat trick goal was more impressive, as Lucas Perez advanced into the path of the ball 15 meters (yards) out to shoot right-footed across the dive of goalkeeper Tomas Vaclik.I think he took advantage of the fact that we created good chances, but hes a goalscorer, Wenger said. He scored over 20 goals in Spain and thats no coincidence.Ozils visionary assist was the key to Arsenals fourth. A fast, direct break saw the Germany playmaker surge into the Basel penalty area and deceive defenders who expected him to shoot by clipping a reverse pass for Iwobi to score easily from close range.Basels season in Europe is over though it is 12 points clear in the Swiss league and likely to be back in the Champions League groups next season. The Swiss champion finished bottom in the group, leaving Ludogorets in third place to switch to the Europa League Round of 32 draw on Monday.
